Some Steps...

So, Bastian has been taking small steps towards us for a couple weeks now. It's more of a "step - step - dive" into our arms. Pretty funny at times. But I haven't really been pushing walking, cause I already know what trouble crawling has gotten us into, goodness knows walking will be even crazier.

But last night, I was sitting on the couch, with Bastian playing around my feet, cruising along the furniture, and I catch him taking forward steps next to the couch. He would take two, stop and touch the couch, then take two more. It was soo cool!

Before he goes to full on walking, I wanted to catch the funniness that is him trying to walk. Unfortunately, all I had was my phone video and no one to help me. So the video below is a glorious representation of just that...

It's funny how you can see him stop to kind of regain some balance, then try again, only to appear to take off like superman flying away. Except away is the ground. :)

Once Ian gets home, I will have him help me, and maybe you'll get to see more than just shoulders up. Haha!

Please Continue Praying...

Isaac is doing great, but apparently he must learn to eat this low fat formula before he can go home. He is not a fan of this AT ALL. His parents are growing drained, tired and weary. Please pray for renewed energy, strength and perseverance as he ends his second week in the hospital.

Thank you.

9 Months...

Happy 9 Month Birthday B!!

You've successfully made it through 3/4 of your first year. Congrats. You are still in one piece.

We had our 9 month check up today. And again, I received the famous "He looks good. Keep doin' what your doin' mom," from Dr. Rich. This always makes me laugh and Ian and I really enjoy imitating him. If only I could add voice to these words for you, you would enjoy it too.

All is well on the Bastian front. Here are the stats and what he's been up to lately:

- As of today, 21lbs 10oz, SERIOUSLY time to order the new car seat.
- 29 inches long.
- Crawling faster and faster each day, which can be scary.
- Cruising (walking while holding on) around furniture pretty quickly now.
- Has been attempting a few steps here or there. He took two and a half yesterday. I am soooooo not ready for this.
- Getting into everything and anything he can get his hands on. This makes for fun days if we are around the house.
- I feel like he's started referring to Ian as "DA". Which is funny because we refer to Ian as "Papi", but i sometimes use "Dad" and "Papi". I'm sure I'm confusing the heck out of him, but he seems to really recognize "Papi" when I say it. We keep correcting his "DA" with "Papi" and the past couple days he's started says "PA PA PA".
- Still no "MA". Haha. I lose.
- He's starting to refuse "baby food". Wants to mostly eat finger foods. If I let him do this, he gets over it before he gets nearly enough food, so I always start out attempting to get a little bit of veggie puree in him before he stops me. Then we move to finger foods. He is doing great at this.
- We're pretty much feeding him whatever. Little bits of things we're eating.
- He's babbling tons.
- Waves here and there.
- Complete social butterfly. Definitely did not get this from me. Especially loves older children.
- Has 8 teeth now. But we're starting to drool a lot again so, maybe more coming?

Well I think that's it. I could keep going on with all the little details of how much I love about this boy, but I'll spare you. :)

Happy 9 Months to my little Lovey.
